Hannah and Ashton – St. Joseph, MO engagement and Wedding Photographer

This session had lots of new and “first” events for me.

For starters, it’s the first time my husband went along on an engagement shoot.  Mainly because we went to it on our motorcycle (also a first) and he had to drive. LOL!  Also, it was the first time I’d shot in downtown St. Joseph, MO off the riverfront.  So much cool urban architecture.  If you’ve never been, you should go and explore the area.

It was so windy that day with the air just whipping through the buildings and alleyways.  We decided to just run with it and it produced one of my favorite images of all time (the final image in this set).  Hope you enjoy!

This is the image that’s my favorite.  I love the intensity between the two of them, even how her hair is so into him that even it has to touch him.  SWOON

Mally’s senior portraits – Maryville, Mo / Bedford, IA photographer

I just love this girl she’s full of energy and so fun to shoot.  I also happened to shoot her older brother’s wedding so I knew we’d have a good time shooting.   We started in the studio with some modern beauty portraits and finished up outdoors exploring town.  What I didn’t expect was the random (abandoned) little baby kitty we’d find while out shooting in the field of flowers (end of post).   Tiny little thing that found it’s way home with me and within 24 hours he’d found a new home.

Enjoy Mally’s pics and if you’re in need of portraits or senior portraits, feel free to give us a call at 660-927-0491

Harley Turns one – a Smash cake session

WARNING!

This is not your traditional one year old smash cake session. First, I must introduce you to someone special in my life. Harley.

Ten months ago, I was on facebook and this little face popped up in my feed. Adorable little chap and was looking for a new home. I thought better of myself and answered “I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I think I’m interested.” Less than 24 hours later and we were going home with this little bundle of energy.

I’m going to totally confess that about 2 weeks after he moved in I had decided he had to go.  It was hard.  It was not a harmonious house and he was still so cute I was sure we’d find him a new home very quickly.  My husband, however, put his foot down.  Why I don’t know because Harley was causing HIM the most stress.  We stuck it out and things slowly settled down and we developed a new “normal”.

It’s been a year since he was born.  He’s wormed his way into our lives and hearts in a sweet and annoying kind of way.  His birthday was yesterday and we couldn’t resist the temptation to celebrate some way.  After all, he’s now one claw old.

Happy Birthday Harley.

aka Harley Frog, Froggie, or dummy depending on how annoyed we are.

If you feel the need for the world to know that you’re a crazy dog person too, feel free to give me a shout!

If you enjoyed this post, please share with your friends.
