Before you look at photos, I have to tell you about Brittany and Gordi.
I always attend a local bridal fair as I feel it’s important to support this small local fair and keep my name out there. Sometimes I meet someone special, and sometimes I don’t, but I feel I should be there regardless of the outcome. Well on this day Brittany and Gordi came to my table and I was instantly in love with their energy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Gordi not smiling, and Brittany just lights up then entire room. I knew I wanted to be around them and I felt a great connection. Here’s the catch…. they weren’t engaged yet! I turned to Gordi and I said “do we need to have a talk?” and he laughed. We parted ways and I made a mental note that I really wanted to shoot this wedding. I’m sure the truth was that he already had it all planned out because a couple months later in my office door walks Brittany and Gordi. I was just so excited to see them!
They were my first wedding of 2015 and one of the prettiest I’ve seen yet. It was at Loose Mansion in Kansas City which is incredibly gorgeous (you’ll see in the photos). The wedding, cocktail hour and reception all in the same place. I learned so much about them that day that I feel like they’re old friends now. Both love each other nearly as much as they love Christ. They call Gordi “Pastor Gordi” and I’m hoping someday to get to hear him preach at church (I think they had to pressure him a bit to do so.) Brittany’s little sister is as beautiful as Brittany herself and photographing them both was just a dream. Gordi’s brothers were so much fun and I felt a little like family by the end of the night. Gordi is a crazy good dancer and Brittany does a fine job of keeping up with him. There’s a little surprise action at the reception around the bouquet toss and I think both myself and the “toss-ee” were OMGing at the same moment!
I didn’t want to go home at the end of the night. I don’t say that often after a long day, but these guys made the day fly by. I hope you enjoy their photos as much as I enjoyed being there with them! If you need any wedding photography, please give me an email or a call.
