Welcome … My name is Lana

My passion is photography.

I have typical "middle child syndrome" (That means that I'm always going for the laugh.) Sarcasm is my super power. I live in the country on a make believe ranch. I don't herd cattle, just chickens.

My favorite ice cream is Butterfinger by Edy's but I never buy it, mainly because I'll eat it all at once. LOL. I love shoes but you will rarely see me in the summer in anything other than flip flops.

The stupidest thing I've ever done was break my foot - on a shoot. (Because I'm cool like that) :p I pushed through and shot 6 weddings in a walking cast. (Because I'm insane like that).

My best friend is a stinky boy. I married him, and he follows me around and lovingly carries my equipment, if I bribe him with butterfingers.

I'm a former mommy - now just "Mom" or "Mother" - to two young men. One is out in the big bad world on his own, and the other is a quickly growing teenager in high school. Neither one of them think I'm cool.

I am based out of Maryville, Missouri (northwest corner), but am willing to travel anywhere on this planet a plane will take me. We cover Kansas City, St. Joseph, Missouri, Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa. I have a special fondness for Colorado and Utah.

I take photos because I'm driven to create.

I really like making normal people look their best, so you probably won't see any gorgeous models in my portfolio. Just regular people who look like gorgeous models. For many people, my images will be a defining point in their self-image. I take that seriously, and I treat them with a respect befitting the beauty I see in all people. That's what I strive to create and the spirit with which I approach those for whom I'm privledged to make portraits.

That's not just something flowery I say to make people feel good. It's real and it's also our mission statement.

Rock the Dress Session!

“Rock the Dress” is a new, trendy way to feature your dress in an untraditional, relaxed way. It’s also a great way to get another chance to wear your beautiful dress that you spent so much time and money on! A little bit urban, or country, or both, but mainly a way to feature yourself.

Wear your dress, but a make up artist and updo are not required. Heck you can even wear your favorite converse tennis shoes or that kickin’ pair of cowboy boots that you love so much. We’ll spend several hours featuring you in locations that your mother would have never thought of for her wedding photos!

Alleys, bean fields, laundromats will be our stomping ground. Heck, if you’re up to it, you might even end up in the pool or the lake. I guess that depends on how free spirited you are!Most dresses can be cleaned to remove any spots, but if you feel uncomfortable wearing your dress, you could consider buying a “throw away” dress just for fun. Remember, you’ll only be this person for a short time in your life, celebrate you!

Things you should note:

Destination/travel weddings are welcome – and very reasonably priced. In fact, many times it would be cheaper to hire us, pay for travel for your destination, than to pay a local photography company! Our locations? The WORLD. Please contact us for details
Ground travel more than 60 miles from Maryville, Mo will be billed at $.60 per mile each direction (over the initial 100 miles).
Travel more than 120 miles may require overnight accomodations.
Non-refundable deposit of 33% is required to hold any date.
Model release and contract securing dates must be signed.
